CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act – Senate Amendment to H.R. 748 (or the CARES Act) is a law that was set in place to address the economic fallout related to the 2020 coronavirus that has impacted the United States. The act was officially signed into law on March 27, 2020. The CARES Act is a $2 trillion relief package that includes the following:

  • Direct financial assistance to Americans
  • Aid to small businesses and employees
  • Efforts to stabilize the economy and keep people employed
  • Additional support for health care professionals, patients, and hospitals
